Mastercard Expands Concert Series with Comedy & Music Fusion….
Chandigarh : Mastercard has unveiled the next phase of its multi-city concert series in India, introducing a vibrant new format that blends stand-up comedy with live music. Featuring prominent artists like Vir Das, Zakir Khan, and Papon, the initiative reflects evolving audience preferences for diverse entertainment experiences. Building on earlier editions that showcased global and Indian music icons such as Enrique Iglesias, A. R. Rahman, and Sunidhi Chauhan, the series now expands into a broader cultural platform. The integration of comedy marks a strategic shift, combining humour, storytelling, and music into a unified live experience.
Curated in partnership with Tribe Vibe and EVA Live, the series will see Vir Das perform four shows in New Delhi on May 9 and 10 at Yashobhoomi. Zakir Khan will headline nine shows in Mumbai across multiple June dates, while Papon will embark on a six-city tour starting in Chandigarh on May 16, covering Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Indore. Mastercard cardholders will benefit from exclusive privileges, including priority ticket access and premium lounge experiences at venues.
Beyond entertainment, the initiative continues its social impact through collaboration with Learning Links Foundation. Nearly 90 students from underserved communities across cities have been given the opportunity to attend these events, fostering inspiration and exposure to creative career pathways. “Live entertainment is a powerful expression of culture and connection,” said Gautam Aggarwal, President, India & South Asia, Mastercard. “Our focus remains on creating experiences that are memorable and meaningful, while expanding access and opportunity for communities.”
