Ankur’s Brilliant Century Powers Public Health Department to 16-Run Win Over Horticulture…
A fine century by Ankur (105 Runs of 63 balls) including 13 four and 3 sixes enabled Public Health Department to beat Horticulture Department by 16 runs in the XXVIIth Bharak K Gupta Memorial League Cricket Tournament at the Tau Devi Lal Cricket Stadium, Sector-3, Panchkula here today.
Electing to bat first, the Public Health Department team scored 179 runs for the loss of 4 wickets with main contribution coming from Ankur (105) Himanshu Upadhaya (29) and Sourav Ahlawat (10). Manish was the most successful bowler for the Horticulture team as he claimed 2 wicket for 21 runs.
Replying to his total, the Horticulture team started well as the opening partnership between Shubham Chauhan(73) and Sangeet Sangwal (25) did put on 64 runs in the first 7 overs. However, the remaining batsman failed to capitalize and the team fell short by 16 runs. Yugnik Kandela took 3 wickets to 22 runs and Nawab 2 wickets for 20 runs.
