A special programe of Tabla solo…

Foremost organization dedicated to promote, preserve and disseminate Indian Classical Performing Arts organizes various festivals throughout the year in various parts of the country. Now to promote the young and upcoming generation in the field of Classical Arts , Kendra organized a special session of Tabla Solo at its M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium at 6:30 pm onwards. The main aim was to preserve Tabla repertory of Punjab gharana and to promote and appreciate young talent . These two young and talented artists namely Swarit Panchal from Pune and Raghav Priyaye Bhardwaj from Amritsar is a disciple of SNA Awardee Pandit Sushil Jain. Both the talented artists are learning tabla intricacies of Punjab Gharana from their Guru.

The programme got off to a majestic start with a traditional starting point Peshkar, by Swarit Panchal which was gradually unfolded alap-like elaboration, crisp kaidas with rhythmic variations,— almost all the different idioms of Tabla playing within the frame of the jhap taal followed by 16-beat cycle of the tala with tricky numerical permutations and combinations. Young percussionist displayed different shades of Tabla playing with superb clarity.

After Swarit , Raghav Priyaye Bhardwaj took the centre stage. He presented complex parans, gat, rela, tihais to prove his caliber in Tabla playing . He shared great rapport to the delight of the listeners.

Dr. Gurpreet Singh Moga provided accompaniment on Lehra . Sh. Sajal Koser along with Pandit Sushil Jain honored the artists with mementos.
