190+ Senior Citizens Celebrate Wellness and the Spirit of Sawan at Chapter Moonlight’s August Get-Together….
The Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association – Chapter Moonlight organised its vibrant August 2026 Get-Together at the Community Centre, Sector 50-B, Chandigarh, with the enthusiastic participation of over 190 senior citizens from Sectors 46 to 51 and various Cooperative House Building Societies. The gathering reflected the chapter’s continued commitment to active ageing, healthy living and social bonding. The spirit of the Sawan season was beautifully celebrated with monsoon melodies and traditional delicacies.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Secretary Sh. Ashok Goyal, followed by an engaging Tambola session. A major highlight was the release of the August 2026 edition of the Moonlight Newsletter, the chapter’s widely appreciated monthly publication, now reaching more than 1,000 families.
Doctors from Paras Hospitals, Mohali delivered an informative session on heart health and preventive care for senior citizens. Sh. Gaurav Khanna, Incharge, DCB Bank, Mohali, along with his team, explained banking facilities for senior citizens and created awareness about cyber frauds and digital safety. Representatives of Atlantic Tourism also shared useful information on senior citizen-friendly travel packages and services.
The chapter felicitated 22 members celebrating their birthdays and two couples marking their wedding anniversaries, adding warmth and joy to the occasion. The Punctuality Lucky Draw and Best WhatsApp Message Award generated enthusiastic participation among members.
The cultural programme, gracefully compered by Sh. Prem Singla, showcased colourful performances by talented members and concluded with energetic Bhangra and group dances, creating a festive atmosphere.
The memorable gathering concluded with a sumptuous community lunch, leaving participants with cherished memories of fellowship, celebration and togetherness.
